I have FINALLY found inexpensive bamboo blinds for my large windows (at World Market- 8ft. x 6ft.). I know that all bamboo shades, unless custom, are light filtering only and not very private but I absolutely love the look of dark bamboo blinds.

I want to make them private/blackout shades by putting a liner on the back by hand. BUT, I also love the look of bamboo from the outside too. SO, I guess I have two questions: A) Have you done this? B) Did it look okay / Do you think it will look okay?

I’m doing this because, by making my own "blackout bamboo shades" by hand, I am saving *literally* hundreds of dollars (around 0).

In my teenager years ! Im 13 now and am aloud to redecorate my room. Right now it’s zebra with pink and lime green. I think it’s a little kiddish and i HATE pink now. So i still wanna keep my zebra theme, but i want a different comforter and more mature room furniture and such. Watcha think?

Hey, I am 17 years old and I wake up every morning right around 7 because the sunlight comes in through my window. I already have a blackout shade and blackout curtains but they are pieces of sh^t. I have taped cardboard boxes all over my window in an attempt to block out the rest of the light, but I missed a few places and I woke up again this morning early. I need to be able to sleep in because I stay out late and I just get mean when I’m sleep deprived and I don’t want to be!

Please help me out, if you have any ideas of how to completely eliminate light from my window.

(I have tried sleeping with those little eye masks on, but they come off easily and they give me acne too- sick.)

ok i have VHT nite shade and do i spray the outside of the tail light? or is there a way to pop off the lense and spray the inside? if so how do i put the lense back on?

This is a Conference Room in a commercial property in San Diego. There are large windows that required 3 over-sized shades that are over 200″ in length. The larger shades are on 3 1/2″ tubes and due to the size there are 2 batten pockets on the shades to keep deflection down as well as it allowed us to keep the shades all one piece. Notice the seams and battens are located perfectly at the window mullions in order to look clean when the shades were all the way down. We have this system tied into a Lutron Graphic Eye through a GRX-CCO-8 Lutron Shade Controller using dry contacts to interface with the Graphic Eye. We also have a Somfy 16 Channel RTS Universal Automation Interface (URTSI2) that ties the system into a Crestron Automation System with an RS232 connection. There are 15 Somfy motors in this room that are all run on a radio signal so no wires need to be run to each motor for communication. We also have an Somfy RTS repeater in this room in order to strengthen the RTS with so many shades in one room. See www.3blindmiceusa.com for more info about motorization. i have been trying to get ruby to sleep from 8-6 instead of 7-5. it hasn’t seemed to work. i have moved naps later, too. i have blackout shades. i have shortened naps. i am not sure if i gave it long enough, though. after about a week i went back to a 7-7:30 bedtime because she was just sleeping 9 hours instead of 10. if anyone has had success with moving everything later, please tell me how and how long it took. 5:00 is rough for me. What sort of type and size TV should I get? The area is not very large, so I am assuming a flat panel (LCD or Plasma) — projectors (either front or back) are out.

The room is brightly lit, but I’ve ordered blackout shades. The walls are 12 feet apart, so what size display do I want?

Finally, what brand is worth going with? I’m unable to decide between Fujitsu, Hitachi, and Elite (Pioneer) and I am not terribly cost-sensitive.

My husband rally needs it dark when we sleep, even the moon is too brite. We already have expensive wood blinds or i would just go get blackout shades. He sometimes works at night and needs to sleep during the day as well. I have looked on the internet and there are plenty to choose from but I just thought I would see if anybody had some they really liked. Thanks people!

I want a plant for my home office, it always seems so stuffy in there. I don’t have a "green thumb", I always seem to water plants either too much or not enough, so I want something resilient. Also, barely any sunlight gets in there because I have blackout shades on the windows.
