Okay so my room is extremelly bright all of the time (small room- 3 big windows that get all the sun). It’s hard to sleep sometimes because even at night my room doesnt get dark enough! I have blackout shade/curtain things right now, but they don’t completely cover my window so obviously its purpose kinda fails.
I’m looking for different blackout options, but I’m worried that with curtains, your always going to get that "side light" that peeks out of the sides. Is there any way to prevent this? Would blinds be a better option? idk..help!

Which would you buy? I play a lot of video games, and watch a lot of movies. I like some sports. Most of viewing would be at night. There is some sun coming in but not much, and have blackout shades set up. Both are 1080p.
Edit: 480hz for Vizio, not 48.
Looking for opinion based on which would be the best setup for me. 3d is nice, but not a deciding factor for me, more focused on picture quality, glare, reliability, etc etc.

I have two regular sized windows in my bedroom that have blinds on them currently but every morning when the sun rises, I get up because of it and it’s driving me crazy. Ideally I would like to just replace the blinds I currently have with a set of blackout shades of the same same so that I can just plug in the new shades in the mounts for the blinds I currently have. They’re regular medal bladed blinds. Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks!

This is my unique method of blocking out all sunlight from my bedroom window. As I often sleep in daylight this is necessary, as curtains alone don’t make the room dark enough. Using cardboard blocks out more light than just a blind.

My son normally sleeps from 7:30-6:30, but with the change, I think I’ll have to get a blackout shade because the sun will be coming up at 5:30am! (And I certainly won’t be dark at 7:30pm)…I’m a little nervous about the change this weekend!

The shades/blinds will be installed inside the window frame, and there will be an additional curtain in front of the window.
Interresting how people are so quick to judge…
I want to block out the light so that my son sleeps past 6am (the sun wakes him up) and so that he naps better and isn’t tired.
I am using tinfoil right now, but it’s unnatractive, and dark all the time. I want to be able to let the light in for most of the day.
